This document is a working draft prepared for TravelDrop and has not yet been reviewed by a licensed attorney. Please have it reviewed by qualified legal counsel in your operating jurisdiction(s) before publishing it as a binding agreement.

1. Eligibility

To create a TravelDrop account and use the platform, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age. You must be at least 18 years old. TravelDrop does not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to register as a Sender or Traveler.
  • Accurate information. You must provide truthful, current, and complete identity information when creating your account, including your legal name, contact details, and any identification requested during verification.
  • Identity verification. TravelDrop may verify your identity using a government-issued ID, and may decline or suspend access to the platform if verification cannot be completed or is found to be fraudulent.

2. Platform Role

It's important that every user understands exactly what TravelDrop is โ€” and what it is not:

  • TravelDrop is a technology marketplace that connects Travelers who have upcoming trips with Senders who need to move a package along a similar route.
  • TravelDrop is not a courier company, freight forwarder, customs broker, airline, or shipping company, and does not itself take physical possession, custody, or control of any package at any point.
  • Travelers independently decide, at their own discretion, whether to accept, decline, or cancel any delivery request. TravelDrop does not compel any Traveler to accept a request.

3. User Responsibilities

By using TravelDrop, both Senders and Travelers agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the package being sent and the trip being taken, including size, weight, contents, and travel dates.
  • Comply with the baggage allowances, restrictions, and rules of the airline or transport provider being used for the trip.
  • Comply with all applicable customs, import, and export regulations of the origin and destination locations.
  • Never offer, accept, or transport any item that is prohibited or illegal under applicable law (see Section 6, Prohibited Items).

4. Payments

  • All payments made through TravelDrop are processed securely via the platform's designated payment providers.
  • Funds paid by a Sender are held in escrow and are not released to the Traveler until the delivery has been successfully confirmed by the Sender or recipient.
  • Service fees charged by TravelDrop are non-refundable once a transaction has been completed.

5. Cancellation Policy

  • Sender cancellation before acceptance. A Sender may cancel a delivery request at no charge at any time before a Traveler has accepted it.
  • Traveler cancellation after acceptance. If a Traveler cancels after already accepting a request, this is treated as a policy violation and may affect the Traveler's standing on the platform.
  • Automatic refunds. Where a delivery cannot proceed through no fault of the Sender, any escrowed payment is automatically refunded to the Sender.
  • Repeated cancellations. Users who repeatedly cancel accepted deliveries may face reduced visibility, temporary restrictions, or account suspension.

6. Prohibited Items

The following items may never be sent, accepted, or carried through TravelDrop, under any circumstances:

Absolutely prohibited: Drugs, weapons, explosives, counterfeit goods, cash, precious metals, human remains, hazardous chemicals, and illegal wildlife products. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive โ€” any item unlawful to ship, carry, or export/import in the relevant jurisdictions is prohibited regardless of whether it appears above.

7. Liability

Because TravelDrop is a marketplace connecting independent Senders and Travelers rather than a shipping company, TravelDrop is not responsible for:

  • Customs delays, seizures, or additional charges imposed by any government authority.
  • Loss or damage caused by an airline or transport provider's handling of baggage.
  • Consequences arising from a Sender's inaccurate description of a package's size, weight, or contents.

Users who wish for additional protection against loss, theft, or damage should refer to TravelDrop's Premium Insurance options.

8. Account Suspension

TravelDrop reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban an account for any of the following reasons:

  • Fraud or attempted fraud of any kind.
  • Use of a fake or falsified identity.
  • Abuse, harassment, or threatening behavior toward another user.
  • Involvement in illegal shipments of any kind.
  • Multiple or repeated violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
